Guilty Pleasures: American Idol

So David Cook won afterall. :)

One thing I like about him, is that he sounds very good live. Like a recording but still RAW.

His debut single TIme of My Life. I love it.

Problem is, he has got to get himself a band. Can’t do it alone. There’s a chance he can outsell Daughtry.

Time will tell :)

Congratulations to the DC.

Some tunes….and some albums..

After a couple of months in the hiatus. Back with a short post.

Some brilliant OSTs to have a listen.

I really like Juno, the movie and the songs. Just picked up the OST and the b-sides, which are made up of songs that didn’t quite make the cut.

Darjeeling Limited’s OST is another one worth having a listen.

Strangely, after listening to both, The Shins and The Kinks come to mind. Probably, it’s along those lines.

On top of that, I had a flashback after getting some recos from a friend. I’ve been listening back to KT Tunstall’s debut album (I think). Universe and U. What I’m getting at is the fact that people may like a song for a period of time. Later on, when someone recos that song, somehow this brings the song to another level of favoritism. You just like it a whole different way.

On one final note, I saw Amy McDonald on Double Shot on Channel V. It’s strange sometimes. Although I’m happy some of these artistes are getting some mainstream airtime, somehow I like it even more if they stayed obscure. I’m happy for her. Same way I felt when Corinne Bailey Ray got some mainstream airtime. I also caught Paramore on a MTV live kinda show. Damn me, Hayley can really sing live. It’s haunting how she sounds like a recording, but with that raw effect.

Till the next time. Keep on listening. It’s all happening.
