Guilty Pleasures: American Idol
So what’s new with American Idol? Nothing much but it’s time to put some predictions through. David Cook, Asia (sic?), Syesha (sic?), Michael Johns. Decently strong cast this year but no stand out.
Buzz Band: Paramore
Hayley Williams, oh Hayley. John Mayer hearts Hayley and calls her the great orange hope. Paramore sings boy rock songs and boy can this girl sing. Still in her teens, Hayley can sing the house down. She’s got vocals that remind me of an early ‘punk’ Avril Lavigne. Hayley takes vocal lessons and has been taking them for more than 5 years. What I really like about her is the way she sings live. It’s almost studio like. Check out Paramore’s 2nd album (they released an EP in 2006) Riot!, which was released in 2007. Plus, she’s cute.
